LWV focuses on women's rights

In honor of Women's History Month, the League of Women Voters of Los Gatos-Saratoga-Monte Sereno hosts "Commemorating 150 Years of Women's Rights" on March 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the Saratoga Library's Community Room.

The program begins with a comedic melodrama called "Women in Politics," performed by local league members as well as members of the local branch of the American Association of University Women.

Afterward, local author Martha Kendall leads a discussion on "Elizabeth Cady Stanton: First Lady of Feminism." Kendall is a professor of English and women's studies at San Jose City College and has written several books on women's rights as well as numerous children's books.

The program is open to all interested members of the community.
