Saratoga NewsVillage BriefsThe Federated Church presents inspiring musical The drama group of the Saratoga Federated Church presents The Story of the Other Wise Man, at 7:30 p.m. on March 20 and 6:30 p.m. on March 22. More than 25 local actors and singers will participate. The play is based on the classic story of Artaban, a magi from Persia who stops along his journey to help a wounded stranger and thus misses seeing baby Jesus in Bethlehem. His life becomes a 30-year quest to see Jesus' face. The musical, which is free, takes place at Richards Hall on the church grounds, located at 20390 Park Place. For information, call 867-3456. Library offers Internet classes for families The Saratoga Community Library, located at 13650 Saratoga Ave., offers various computer-related classes on an ongoing basis to families with children. An introductory class focuses on the library's Internet sites for children. A class on the library catalog system includes how to conduct searches by author, title and subject. Older students can also learn about magazine searches. Group sessions will be March 21 at 9:15 a.m. for the Internet class and 10 a.m. for the catalog classes. Individual appointments can also be made. For class reservations or more information, call the children's desk at 867-6127. Foothill topic: women's roles in millenium Teacher and spiritual leader Emilia Rathbun speaks on "What Women's Role Will Be in the New Millennium" on March 24 at 10 a.m. at the Saratoga Foothill Club clubhouse, located at 20399 Park Place. For the past 60 years, Rathbun has been interested in her own and other people's quests for the meaning of life. With her late husband, Harry, a Stanford law professor, she co-founded the Sequoia Seminar, Creative Institute and Beyond War Foundation. This lecture is part of the 1997-98 public lecture series, sponsored by the Foothill Club. A donation of $6 is appreciated. For information, call 867-2361 or 354-2527.
