    Coaching Clinic

Veteran high school football coach Butch Cattolico, who has headed up a successful program at Los Gatos High School for the past two decades, will be among the 10 top-notch football coaches to speak at the CCSA Clinic of Champions on March 25, 12:30 p.m., at Sacred Heart High School in Atherton.

Cattolico tops a line-up that features high school football coaches Mike Mitchell of St. Francis, Mike Holt of Andrew Hill, Mark Krail of Pioneer, Chris Cameron of Hollister, Tony Alanis of Woodside and Chris Oswald of Santa Clara. Ryan Buhk of a successful youth team, the Sunnyvale Micro Rockets, will also be among the speakers.

The clinic is recommended for high school and youth coaches, but is open to the general public. The cost is $35 per person or $25 per person for groups of five or more.

Log on to www.ccsa.net or call 650.969.3295 for info.

    Youth Football

Sign-ups for the 2000 Los Gatos Pop Warner football season will be held March 22, 6-9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School.

Pop Warner offers programs for boys and girls ages 7-15. Football teams are grouped according to weight and age, and cheer squads are grouped by age.

The organization will add a new instructional, non-competitive entry-level division this season for boys ages 7-9 weighing 45-85 pounds.

Practice for all teams begins in August.

Check www.lgpw.com or call the hotline at 408.920.2204.

    Coach Needed

Willow Glen head varsity field hockey coach Peggy Booth is looking for a junior varsity coach for the fall season. For more information, call Booth at 408.535.6330.

    Spring Coaches

High school coaches are reminded to send us their spring sports schedules, rosters and completed questionnaires so that we can begin coverage of the 2000 season.

Packets were faxed to athletic directors at area high schools, and they were asked to distribute the information to the spring coaches. So far, only a few have been returned.

Please respond quickly so that your athletes can begin getting recognition for their achievements. Fax your information to 408.354.3917, or call Dick Sparrer at 408.978.9665.
