You've got to have heart

Second-graders Jordan De Wilde (left) and Ryan Doherty jump for joy as they participate in the Jump Rope for Heart event at Marshall Lane School on March 13. The school has participated in the annual event, promoting cardiovascular health and raising money for the American Heart Association, for eight years. In 1996 and 1997, the school was the No. 1 fundraiser in the county. The school has raised more than $50,000 for the Heart Association in its eight years of participation.
