A.J. Kerin netted three victories last week. And it's no coincidence that the Saratoga boys tennis team did, too.

The Falcons turned back Los Gatos 5-2 and whipped Lynbrook 6-1 in a pair of matches in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic league, then they knocked off Harker Academy 6-1 in a non-league match at the old Blackford High School campus.

And in all three of the matches, Kerin got the Falcons off to a good start with victories at No. 1 singles.

The Falcons, 5-2 in the division and 9-2 for the year, capped the week with the 5-2 win over Los Gatos on Thursday. Kerin sparked Saratoga to the team victory with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 over two-time league champion Will McAlister.

Kerin won 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot to start the Falcons on their way to a 6-1 win over Lynbrook two days earlier.

Garrett Wyatt supported with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, Ashvin Soin won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 and Jonathon Ng won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4.

Po-Yuan Chen and Anil Narasimha nailed a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles and Jeremy Lin and David Lee won 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 3.

Saratoga had opened the week with a 6-1 win over Harker in non-league play. Kerin won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Wyatt won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, Soin won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 and Ng won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.

Chen and Narasimha won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and Lin and Lee won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles team of Tim Chang and Philip Cheung lost a tough three-set decision 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

In other local tennis action, Westmont won twice in the West Valley Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League, beating Lincoln 4-3 and Willow Glen 5-2. The Warriors are now 5-2 in division play.

Prospect dropped a pair of matches in the Santa Teresa Division last week, falling 5-2 to Branham and 4-3 to Oak Grove.
