    Soccer Clinic

    The Southwest YMCA will host a five-day soccer clinic for players and coaches in April, presented by professional players from the United Kingdom.

    The clinic, directed by Britannia Soccer, begins April 9, and there are half- and full-day classes for both beginners and advanced players.

    Britannia Soccer is commited to advancing the sports in the United States and emphasizes the importance of moral and social values, promotes important topics such as school attendance, improving grades, honor systems and responsibility away from the field of play, says Missy Tabler, Southwest YMCA program director.

    Girls basketball camp planned

    The seventh annual Saratoga Skills Clinic, a summer basketball camp for girls, returns to the Saratoga High School gym June 25-July 13.

    The camp is open to girls in grades 7-12, and camp hours are 1-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    Saratoga girls head varsity basketball coach Bret Yeilding is the camp director and he conducts the camp with members of his coaching staff and former players.

    The camp covers passing, dribbling, ball handling and shooting, and the cost is $200 per player.

    De Anza Force

    The De Anza Force, a girls under-9 Class 3 soccer team, is looking for players for the upcoming season.

    Players (born after July 31, 1992) will play under-8 in the spring and under-9 in the fall of 2001. For more information, call Jolene Keel at 408.910.9299.

    Youth Basketball

    RT Basketball will host spring leagues for players in grades 3-12. The season runs from March 31-May 20, and includes games, clinics and contests.
