    The hills are alive

Stephanie Goodman, Sarah Gold, Claire Callaghan and Tom Dommett and (front row) Alisha Reddy, Ashna Reddy and James Fung portray the seven Von Trapp children in Saratoga High School's production of 'The Sound of Music,' one of Rodgers and Hammerstein's best known musicals. Fung attends Rogers Middle School and the Reddy sisters attend Saratoga Elementary School; the others are Saratoga High School students. Performances run March 29-31, at Los Gatos High School's Prentiss Brown Auditorium, 20 High School Court. Tickets are $12 for adults and $9 for students. Spring has sprung!

Daffodils have long been known as one of the most beautiful and obvious signs of Spring. In Los Gatos-- at least in front of Town Hall in the Los Gatos Civic Center-- the bright blooms are also a sign that the Los Gatos Beautification Committee has been at work. Led by Shirley Henderson, owner of the Antiquarium and a longtime town volunteer, LGBC members took advantage of the warming weather recently and planted a cheerful array of the flowers.
