Beth David Memorial Garden will be dedicated at Oak Hill
Congregation Beth David, will dedicate its new Beth David Memorial Garden at Oak Hill Memorial Park, in San Jose, on April 2, beginning at 2 p.m. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
The program includes a presentation by Oak Hill staff on the historical significance of the Oak Hill land and the geniza, or sacred burial place for Jewish books and documents. There, also, will be an unveiling of a stone sculpture on the garden's Wall of Remembrance, designed by local artist and Beth David congregant Dahlia Perahia.
Beth David's Memorial Garden is the third established Jewish cemetery in the San Jose area; the others are Shalom Gardens in Los Gatos Memorial Park and an area owned and managed by San Jose's Temple Emanuel, also, at Oak Hill. The garden provides 400 burial plots, which are available to the general Jewish community, as well as Beth David members.
Oak Hill Memorial Park is at 300 Curtner Ave., at the corner of Monterey Road.
