Soprano sings for the last concert in community series

For the last concert of its 1999-2000 season, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Concert Association presents coloratura soprano Erie Mills on April 16, at 2:30 p.m., in Los Gatos High School's Prentiss Brown Auditorium, at 20 High School Court.

Mills is a graduate of the College of Wooster, in Ohio, and holds a vocal performance degree from the University of Illinois. She has sung with many American symphony orchestras and opera groups, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, the New York City Opera and the San Francisco Opera. She is a professor of vocal music at San Jose State University; her accompanist, Sharon Brook, is, also, an SJSU faculty member. The afternoon's program consists of vocal selections, ranging from 17th Century Handel to 20th Century Leonard Bernstein.

For ticket information, or, to get on the mailing list for the 2000-2001 performance season, call Ray Strong at 408.377.1106, or Leah Frey at 408.356.5698.

Nominees must demonstrate a commitment to the YWCA's goals, which include empowerment of women, elimination of racism, inspiration of others, compassion and community leadership, and activism. Call 650.494.0972 ext. 331.
