Saratoga NewsNews BriefsMeasure G set for discussion at April 7 meeting The Saratoga City Council will revisit its policy on Measure G at its meeting Tuesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Adult Care Center, located on Allendale Avenue. The council reversed its policy of letting developers decide whether to go directly to a ballot or through the Planning Department March 4. The move was in response to an application by developer Barry Swenson to change the land-use designation of property on Quito Road. The new designation could make room for an assisted-care facility. Mystery author to visit library The Saratoga Community Library's Books Alive! series will present Bay Area author Sister Carol Anne O'Marie, author of the popular Sister Mary Helen mystery novel series, on Friday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m., at the library, located on the corner of Fruitvale and Saratoga avenues. Local women are honored at reception A number of local elected women will be honored at a reception hosted by Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian on Sunday, March 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Women's Club of Palo Alto, located at 475 Homer Ave. The event commemorates National Women's Month and the 150th anniversary of the Seneca Falls Convention. Local women being honored include Joy Atkins, the West Valley-Mission Community College District; Cynthia Chang, the Saratoga Union School District; Nancy Crampton, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District; Jill Hunter, the Saratoga Union School District; Peggy Keon, the Saratoga Union School District; Gillian Moran, the Saratoga City Council; Stephanie Petrossi, the Saratoga Union School District; Cynthia Ruby, the Saratoga Union School District; Nancy Rucker, the West Valley-Mission Community College District; Maxine Sanders, the West Valley-Mission Community College District; Jackie Schmidt-Posner, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District; and Lorrie Wernick, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District.
