A variety show at Argonaut salutes the good ol' USA

Every talent show features stars. But the annual variety show at Argonaut Elementary School featured stars and stripes. Argonaut held its show, "Argonaut Salutes America," at Redwood Middle School on March 23.
Alex Amato, Marjan Hooman, Tara Fatemi, Ian Wong and Max Workman spurred laughter with their comedy routines, while Katie Clabeaux wowed the audience with her magic tricks. Jason Chang, Tejas Mulye, Rolland Wu and Brian Tsai performed a skit called "The Mad Scientist," while Neyha Bhat, Sonali Dujari, Sally Freeman, Heraa Hyder and Aditi Jayaraman acted out another skit, "The Lost Homework."
Ojus Rao, Olivia Chock, Monica Ramakrishnan, Nikhil Jayashankar, Priyanka Nookala, Michelle Shu, Jocelyn Pwu, Vivian Tsai and Paulina Tsai displayed their musical talents on the piano, while Stephanie Ho, Debbie Soung, Vikas Nookala, Malika Kumar and Nandita Kumar performed songs on the violin. Arnav Dugar, Stephanie Payne, Stephanie Poo, Reggie Wu, Samantha Pack, Steve McLellan, Chris Rea and Chase Teeple used their voices as their instruments and sang.
Song and dance routines were performed by Lauren Henderson, Clark Rothenberg, Madeline Rothenberg, Rebecca Amato, Emily Baba, Lucy Baden, Adele Perera, Anna Schroeder, Elizabeth Burns and Jessica Liscom, as well as third-grade Brownie Troop #796. The Brownies included Krithi Bala, Meera D'Costa, Ashley Fetsch, Nicole Fetsch, Nina Mohanty, Annaliese Parker and Courtney Payne.
Carolyn Chen, Rebecca Chen, Clark Heaney, Drew Hsieh, Christine Lee, Alice Liu, Stephanie Liu, Charmaine Ng, Darren Sun, Derek Sun, Megan Trager and Steven Trager also performed a dance, "Argonaut Marches Proud." Other large group dance routines included "Shava, Shava," with Antara Rao, Kaitna Shankar, Shivani Chadha, Sneha Belkhale, Shriya Nagpal, Meghana Rao, Priyana Arunkumar, Anjalika Goyal, Nishad Singh and Varsha Ramesh, and "Stay Home," with Adrienne Blaine, Kelly Darchuk, Jennifer Hansen, Clare Marsh, Katie Marsh, Kathleen Roberts and Kate Stewart.
Smaller group dance routines were "Man After Midnight," with Sarah Blegen and Arianna Paranzino; "AM to PM," with Laura Boden, Lindsay Skolnik and Kaelah Squires; "The Way You Love Me," with Natasha Aleksic and Amy Carlton; and a dance by staff members.
Other students danced and lip-synced. They were Melissa Ozaslan, Cathryn Paolini, Kelsey Fiance, Jessica Chan, Diana Seo, April Choi, Sonya Brenner, Nicole Gragnola, Maddie Matusih, Elizabeth Murray, Shan England and Whitney Hansen.
Aaron Garg shared the poem "A Wish, A Hope," and Ryan Roberts tumbled across the stage.
Matthew Hawks, Patrick Hawks, Alison Buchanan, Alexa Riley, Justin El Diwany, Natasha Aleksic and Amy Carlton announced between acts.
The evening culminated with a fifth-grade finale and the audience singing along to "Grand Ole Flag."
