    Panthers win

Chad Holan knocked down seven kills to lead the Prospect boys volleyball team to a 15-0, 15-6, 15-5 win over Lincoln last week in the Santa Teresa Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League. The Panthers are 5-0 in the division and 7-0 for the year.

Saratoga, meanwhile, lost a match in three sets to powerful Homestead last week. The Falcons dropped a 15-7, 15-8, 15-3 decision to the Mustangs to even their record at 1-1 in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.

    Jama wins two

Junior Abraham Jama won twice at No. 1 singles, but the Prospect boys tennis team could win just one of three matches in Santa Teresa Division play last week.

Jama posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles in a 4-3 win over Silver Creek. But his 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 wasn't enough to keep the Panthers from falling 4-3 to Andrew Hill, and Prospect dropped a 6-1 nod to Valley Christian. The Panthers are now 2-9 in the division.

In West Valley Division play, Westmont lost 7-0 to Yerba Buena and 4-3 to Silver Creek to slip to 0-9 in the division.

Saratoga lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to Lynbrook in the De Anza Division of the SCVAL, despite getting a 6-4, 6-1 win by junior Garrett Wyatt at No. 1 singles.

    Valera leads Prospect

Senior Neal Valera fired a couple of solid rounds to lead the Prospect golf team to back-to-back wins over Andrew Hill in Santa Teresa Division play last week.

Valera carded a one-over par 31 at Deep Cliff to lead the Panthers past the Falcons, then he shot a three-over 39 at Silver Creek to drive the Panthers to a 224-300 win over Hill.

Prospect is now 5-3 in the division.

Westmont nailed a pair of Mount Hamilton Division wins over Willow Glen last week to jump to 6-2 in the division.

Brent Picard was even par with a 36 at Cinnabar Hills in a 217-246 win over the Rams. Earlier in the week, Picard was one-over at 37 at Summitpointe in a 219-243 win over Willow Glen.

In the SCVAL, Saratoga improved to 7-0 for the year with consecutive wins over Los Gatos and Monta Vista last week.

The Falcons edged Gatos 193-196 early in the week.
