Art group hosts watercolorist at monthly meeting
The Saratoga Contemporary Artists invites the community to its April 12 meeting, at which time Bay Area watercolor artist Lian Zhen will demonstrate how he combines Chinese and Western watercolor techniques to produce his unique, exquisite paintings.
A physician in his native China, Zhen earned a bachelor's degree in painting and a master's degree in architecture, both in the United States. Zhen recently published a book titled Chinese Painting Techniques and also served as juror for the April Open Juried Show at the Los Gatos Museum of Art and Natural History.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Saratoga Library, 13650 Saratoga Ave. Refreshments will be served. Saratoga Contemporary Artists is a community organization that promotes the arts and lets artists of different levels and styles socialize, network, review each other's works and occasionally paint together.
