Following is a sample of what's available.

    * Community Forum. On April 28, from noon to 1:30 p.m., Good Samaritan CEO Bill Piché discusses new developments at the hospital and talks about future plans. A buffet lunch is included. Reservations are required.

    * Mature Driving Course. Together with the American Association of Retired Persons, Senior Friends offers the 55 Alive Mature Driving Course on May 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room 6. After completing the course, each participant receives a certificate good for a three-year auto insurance discount. Advance registration is required.

    Class teaches seniors memoir writing

The Senior Program at the Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation offers a nine-week class called Life Stories, held on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon, from April 24 through June 19, in room 11 of the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main St.

Led by instructor Sheila Dunec, seniors will participate in memory association exercises and follow guidelines that teach them how to recall long-forgotten but important incidents and anecdotes in their lives and how to put these memories down on paper for future generations.

Cost of the program is $45 per person. To register, or for more information, call 408.354.8700, or visit the Rec. Dept. at 123 E. Main St. in Los Gatos.
