Looking for former football all-stars
It was the summer of 1974 when a football game called the Santa Clara County All-Star Bowl debuted on the turf at San Jose State's Spartan Stadium.
Since that time, it has grown to become a summer classic for high school football all-stars, and the event, now known as the Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game, returns this summer for its 25th anniversary.
To celebrate the event, game organizers--the Almaden Valley Rotary Club--invite all former all-star players and coaches to attend this year's game, set for Friday, July 23, at Spartan Stadium.

Wedemeyer Gala
The Charlie Wedemeyer Celebration Gala, honoring outstanding Bay Area high school seniors, will be held May 20, 6 p.m., in the Imperial Ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel.
Scholarships of $1,000 will be presented.
