"Fishing Shacks and Reflections," photographed in Nova Scotia, will be on display at the Ægis Gallery during the show by Ronnie and Mel Rabedeau.

Ægis gallery features Rabedeaus' photos

"Along a Road Less Traveled" is the title of the show opening at the Ægis Gallery March 28. The exhibit features color photographs by Ronnie and Mel Rabedeau of scenes from the less-traveled roads of Vermont, England, Scotland, Nova Scotia and beyond.

The show will continue through April 28. A reception for the artists will be held at the gallery March 31 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Longtime Saratogans, the Rabedeaus have taken advantage of their retirement to expand their lifelong interest in photography. Mel previously worked as an optical engineer for Eastman Kodak Co. and IBM. Ronnie has blended occasional stints at photography with raising their children and community volunteerism. Both have taken photography classes over the years.

While husband and wife both shoot pictures, Mel takes care of the darkroom work. In their photos, they are always looking for something that grabs that eye, Mel says.

The Rabedeaus, who are members of the Ægis Gallery, usually have some of their work on display, but the current show features them.

Ægis Gallery, located at 14531 Big Basin Way, No. 2, is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
