    Saratoga Soccer

The 2000 soccer season is coming up soon, and the Saratoga AYSO Region 27 soccer league is holding signups for players, coaches, referees and board members.

Advanced registration for players whose parents will sign up for volunteer positions is slated for April 29, 10 a.m.-noon, at Argonaut School.

The AYSO is looking for referees, coaches, division managers and board members at the April registration.

Players who did not participate in the Saratoga AYSO program last year must provide a passport or notarized copy of their birth certificate. The registration fee is discounted to $50 per child at the advanced registration.

Early registration dates are slated for May 13 and June 3, 9:30-1 p.m., when the registration fee will be discounted to $75 per player.

For more information, contact the league's website at www.saratoga-AYSO.org or call 408.257.2976.

The fee is $574 for the 14-week men's season and $265 for the seven-week coed season.

The rec department also offers drop-in basketball for players 40 and over each Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., at Saratoga High. The cost is $3 per night or $27 for 10 nights. Proof of age is required.

The organization will add a new instructional, non-competitive entry-level division this season for boys ages 7-9 weighing between 45-85 pounds.
