    Adult Sports

    The Saratoga Recreation Department is currently registering teams for the spring coed and the spring/summer men's softball league seasons, and for the spring season men's 35-plus basketball.

    Coed teams play on Tuesdays and Thursdays for seven weeks and men's "D" teams play on Mondays and Wednesdays for 14 weeks. Game are played at El Quito Park.

    Soccer Tryouts

    The Saratoga United Class 1 (select) under-14 girls soccer club will hold fall tryouts on April 17 and 18. For more information, call Tom Vischer at 371-8342 or John Howe at 741-1543, or check their website at www.justgreat.com/united.

    Fall Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO will hold registration at Argonaut School for the upcoming fall soccer season on May 1, May 15 and July 11, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. There will also be a special registration on April 24, 9:30 a.m.-noon, for coaches, assistant coaches and referees).

    The league will work with MLS Camps to offer youth soccer camps Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Congress Springs Park.

    Football Signups

    It's time to start thinking about the fall Pop Warner Football season, and youngsters ages 8-15 living in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Campbell can sign up as either football players or cheerleaders.

    Players must have been born between Aug. 1, 1983, and July 31, 1991, and 15-year-old players must be under 125 pounds.

    Off and running

    It's spring, and runners will have a couple of choices this weekend if they want to get off and running in events scheduled in the area.

    The Dream Run/Sleep Walk, a 5K event, will be held on April 17, 10 a.m., at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. The cost is $15. For information, call 741-4041.

    The Challenge For Charity, a 5K and 10K event, will be held on April 18, 8:30 a.m., at Stanford in Palo Alto. The cost is $15 before April 10, or $20 after. Call 650-947-0979.
