Gary Vernon
Gary Vernon, 51, has been appointed administrator of the Odd Fellows Health Center, located on the grounds of the Odd Fellows Retirement Home at 14500 Fruitvale Ave.
Vernon has been involved in the nursing-home industry since 1968 and has operated facilities ranging in size from 50 to 200 beds. He has experience with geriatrics, developmentally and mentally challenged patients, rehabilitation, and subacute facilities.
The position was previously held by Charles Gascoigne, who has been promoted to executive director of the Odd Fellows Home.
Vernon said, "I have enjoyed my brief period with the Odd Fellows Home and am excited about the campus growth potential."
The Odd Fellows Retirement Community is open to the public and is operated by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. It consists of a residential facility offering independent and assisted living and the Health Center, which offers skilled nursing. It occupies 37 acres and has been in operation since 1912.
