The waters will begin to stir again for another age-group swim season at the Brookside Club of Saratoga. And the Waves will be taking the plunge for a brand-new coaching staff.
Erik Colwill, Brian Stoelker and Shannon Moore will lead the Brookside Waves into competition in the Junipera Serra Swim League season running April 22- July 27.
Colwill will serve as the head coach for Brookside. Colwill was recently a coach for the Santa Clara Swim Club, and last spring he worked as an assistant coach at Prospect High School. He's a former All-American for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and has been a competitive swimmer for 15 years.
Stoelker and Moore are high school students who will serve Brookside as assistant coaches.
Stoelker, a Saratoga resident, is a senior at St. Francis, where he has played varsity water polo since 1992. He's also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor.
Moore is a junior at Saratoga who is currently playing for the school's girls' water polo team. She has been a member of the Brookside team for a number of years, and will compete for the club's 15-18 age-division squad this season.
Boys and girls 18 and under who are Brookside members are eligible to compete for the team. For more information, call 253-0231.
