    Women's Golf Day tees off April 17

    A special Women's Golf Day is slated for April 17 at the Saratoga Country Club to build interest in the See's Golf Tournament scheduled for late May.

    The event, sponsored by the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation, features putting and chipping lessons, a sports psychologist, a fashion show and a luncheon.

    Booster club plans auction

    The 21st annual Saratoga High Athletic Booster Club Fund-Raising Auction will be held May 20, 2-8 p.m., at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

    Tickets are priced at $85 and are available from Booster Club board members or at the Saratoga school office. The ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres, beverages, gourmet dinner and the opportunity to bid in the one-of-a-kind auction.

    Auction items include hard-to-get tickets to sporting events, private winery events, golf outings, exotic trips, sports memorabilia and much more.

    Proceeds from the events help fund boys and girls sports at Saratoga High and Redwood Middle School.

    Field hockey jamboree set

    The 22nd annual Willow Glen High School Field Hockey Jamboree will be held Sept. 7-8 on fields at the high school.

    Each team will play a minimum of five games in the varsity-level tournament. Games will be 30 minutes, with a 2-minute halftime break. The cost is $160 per team before June 7, $175 after that date.

    Teams interested in participating in the tournament should call Willow Glen head coach Peggy Booth at 535-6330 by April 20.

    Soccer league registers players

    The Saratoga AYSO Region 27 will hold registration for players ages 5 and up interested in playing in the fall season on May 12, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and June 2 1-4 p.m. at Redwood Middle School in Saratoga.
