Fewer than 12 spaces are left for trip to new park
The Saratoga Recreation Department is taking reservations now--less than a dozen spaces are left--for a bus trip to Gilroy on June 21, to visit Bonfante Gardens. The country's first horticulturally based theme park, the 75-acre Bonfante Gardens was created and designed by Michael Bonfante. Along with amusement rides, attractions and eateries, it also features the Circus Trees, a collection of large trees fused and grafted together into unusual shapes by Axel Erlandson in the 1920s.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Cost is $45 for adults, $41 for children. Call 408.868.1248, or 408.868.1249, for reservations.
Romantic Italian comedy comes to the WVC Theatre

The play follows three love stories and combines the beauty of modern-day Venice, the excitement of Carnevale and the mischief of the Commedia del'arte.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. The campus is at 14000 Fruitvale Ave. in Saratoga. Free parking is available in Lot 7; paid parking is available elsewhere. For show times or directions, call 408.741.2058.
