    Students wax poetic for visiting teacher

    Students in Irene Jara's third-grade class at Blue Hills School in Saratoga took a lesson in rhyming poetry from visiting poetry teacher Anita Holzberg recently.

    Focusing on the emotional subject of endangered species, the young poets put words to paper and then each had an opportunity to read their poems aloud and into a tape recorder.

    Holzberg, who teaches part time at Stocklemeir Elementary School in Sunnyvale, began teaching poetry to youngsters throughout the valley about three years ago.
