    GGG hosts tour of Madronia

The Saratoga Good Government Group will host a one-hour tour of the historic Madronia Cemetery, located at 14754 Oak St. on April 29. The tour will meet at the entrance gate at 10 a.m.

Willys Peck, Saratoga writer and historian, will lead the tour which is open to the public.

Madronia Cemetery is the city's oldest institution, dating from the 1860s. A Madronia Cemetery Association was established in 1863 and today, there is a cemetery commission, whose members are appointed by the county Board of Supervisors.

According to the Good Government Group, many important citizens are buried in the cemetery so the tour should be interesting to all Saratogans. For additional information, contact Al Roten, GGG President, at 408.252.0131 or al-roten@juno.com.
