    On Campus

    Register now for Saratoga schools

    The Saratoga Union School District began registering all new students for the 2000-2001 school year on April 3. Parents may pick up registration packets at the SUSD office at 20460 Forrest Hills Drive from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Completed packets must be returned to the district office before June 1.

    Residents in the district may request a K-5 school site of their choice, provided space is available. If needed, a lottery will be held the week of June 5. Argonaut, Foothill and Saratoga Schools will host an open house for prospective students on May 18, at 7 p.m. All students will be notified of their school placement by the first week in July.

    West Valley College to host job fair

    West Valley College will help link Santa Clara County Employers with students and members of the community seeking employment at a job fair on April 26. Over 40 employers will be present including the cities of San Jose, Palo Alto and Saratoga, the California Highway Patrol, Hertz Corporation, JDR Microdevices, Longs Drug Stores, Macys, Pacific Bell, United Airlines, Wells Fargo Bank and Xerox, among others.

    The job fair will be held in the Student Center on the West Valley College campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 408.867.2200 ext. 3474 or 408.741.2098.

    Saratogan makes the dean's list

    Brian Whisnant of Saratoga was named to the Dean's List at the University of Virginia for his academic achievements in the fall semester. He is a third-year student majoring in systems engineering.

    Harker School presents a spring musical review

    The Harker School in San Jose presents its Spring 2000 Musical Review on April 28 and 29, at 8 p.m. at the school. Students will perform scenes from popular musicals such as Oklahoma, A Chorus Line, The Fantasticks, Bye Bye Birdie, Little Shop of Horrors and Chicago. The cast includes students from many Santa Clara County cities, including Saratoga and Los Gatos.

    Tickets are $5 and may be reserved in advance by calling 345.9286.
