    Girls Hoop Camp

    The sixth annual Saratoga Skills Clinic, a summer basketball camp for girls, will return to the gym at Saratoga High School June 26-July 14. The clinic runs Monday through Friday, 1-3 p.m. each day.

    The clinic, hosted by Saratoga girls varsity coach Bret Yeilding, is open to all girls who will be in grades 7-12 next year, and emphasizes individual offensive skills including passing, dribbling, ball handling and shooting.

    The cost is $200, and space is limited. The clinic sold out last summer.

    Youth Volleyball

    The United State Youth Volleyball League continues signups for the spring season.

    The organization offers two local sites for the eight-week program: Los Gatos High School--Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 9-10 a.m., April 26-June 17; and Camden Park West--Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 9-10 a.m., April 25-June 17.

    Boys and girls ages 8-14 are eligible, and the registration fee of $90 per child includes uniform top and equipment.

    Youth Football

    Signups for the 2000 Los Gatos Pop Warner football season are now being accepted.

    Pop Warner offers programs for boys and girls ages 7-15 from Los Gatos and Saratoga. Football teams are grouped according to weight and age, and cheer squads are grouped by age.

    The organization will add a new instructional, non-competitive entry-level division this season for boys ages 7-9 weighing between 45-85 pounds.

    Adult Sports

    Registration is under way for the spring/summer coed softball season. Teams play Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning April 25. Games are played at El Quito Park in Saratoga. The fee is $265 for the 7-week coed season.

    The Recreation Department also offers drop-in basketball for players 40 and over each Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., at Saratoga High. The cost is $3 per night or $27 for 10 nights.
