The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will take place at the home of John and Kay Eshleman of Monte Sereno. The brunch is designed to promote membership in the organization, but all are encouraged to attend.

    Student exchange with Sister City

High school students are reminded that the deadline is May 1 to apply for the 14th annual Student Exchange Program with Saratoga's Sister City, Muko-Shi, Japan.

Four students will be selected for the exchange, and will leave in late July to stay in the homes of Muko-Shi exchange students coming to Saratoga for a reciprocal stay. Muko-Shi is near Kyoto.

Anyone living in Saratoga can apply, she said, and the group may also consider students living in west San Jose attending local high schools.

For more information and applications, call Marlene Duffin at 867-1410.

    Library Commission seeks new member

The seat is open to all Saratoga residents 18 years or older. Applications are available from City Hall, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue. The Library Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm, and advises the City Council on matters concerning the library and the Santa Clara County Library system.
