It was extremely windy in King City for the annual track and field invitational hosted by the city in the southern tip of the Central Coast Section.

But it wasn't too windy to keep Chad Allen, Taylor Teerlink and Laura Prolo of Saratoga from breezing to rather impressive performances in the hurdles events in the rugged meet.

Allen was first in his heat, then third in the finals in the boys' 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 41.9. Allen added a sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.8 after finishing second in his heat.

Teerlink backed up a win in her heat with a second in the finals in the girls' 100-meter hurdles in 16.0.

Prolo and Teerlink each finished first in their heats in the 300-meter low hurdles, then each came back to place in the finals with Prolo third in 50.9 and Teerlink sixth in 52.2.

Mark Marshall supported Allen's effort in the boys' division with a fourth in the varsity discus with a heave of 128-8, and Alex Daniels was fifth in the frosh-soph mile in 4:53.1.
