Gallery is looking for new members
Gallery Saratoga, an artists' cooperative that moved earlier this year to a new and larger location at 14435-A Big Basin Way, invites interested members of the creative community to consider gallery membership.
"We can take just a few more artists," says Renata Radcliffe, the gallery's membership chairperson. "We're particularly interested in glass, stone and metal, but artists working in any medium are welcome to apply."
The eclectic gallery currently exhibits the works of artists in Saratoga, Los Gatos and other South Bay cities whose mediums include watercolors, oils, fabrics, turned wood vessels, ceramics, cards, photography and mixed media. Call 408.867.0458 or 408.358.7358.
Assistance League to hold a meeting
The Assistance League of Los Gatos-Saratoga, a guild of the non-profit National Assistance League, is holding an informational coffee meeting on May 1, 9:30-11:30 a.m., in the Fireside Room at Faith Lutheran Church, 16548 Ferris Ave. in Los Gatos.
The guild, in existence for only about two years, is dedicated to service within the Los Gatos and Saratoga communities. Currently it provides school clothes, shoes, backpacks and supplies to needy children, and conducts crafts projects at senior centers. Its next projects include a Care for Kids program through Valley Medical Center and the WALTER Program (We All Love To Explore Reading) in local elementary schools.
Everyone is welcome at the coffee meeting. Call 408.356.4274 to RSVP.
