Farmer's Market returns to Saratoga on Saturdays

Market starts May 4

The Farmer's Market returns to Saratoga every Saturday, starting May 4 and running through the end of October.

Shoppers will be able to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and other food items from some 30 vendors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the junction of Big Basin Way and Highway 9.

This year, other Saratoga shopping areas will participate in hosting Farmer's Market events, such as food sampling and wine tasting. Shopping centers also will host special events, such as an ongoing treasure hunt with prizes, puppet shows, clowns and magicians, crafts and storytelling. The locations and events will rotate each Saturday, said spokeswoman Lynne LaCroix.

Some of the events being planned are a health and fitness day at Quito Village on Cox Avenue; an antiques and arts fair at the Gateway area on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road; and an event at Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.

The Saratoga Market Days promotion is being planned by the city's new Business Development Council.
