OBITUARIES

Clara Alida Gresham

Clara Alida Gresham died March 20 in Aptos after an illness.

A Saratoga resident from 1948 to 1971, she and her husband were co-owners of Hakone Gardens before selling it to the city in 1965.

She was very active in the Saratoga Federated Church, serving on many committees including the board of directors. She was also a member of the Saratoga Foothill Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Harms of San Mateo; three sons, Eldon Gresham of Santa Clara, Ronald Gresham of Penryn, and Lowell Gresham of Prunedale; and 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Conrad Gresham.

A celebration of life and a gathering of family and friends will be held April 27 at 11 a.m. at the Saratoga Community Center.

Contributions can be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank or a preferred charity.

Kathy D. Marshall

Kathy D. Marshall, 54, died April 10 after a short illness. Born in Virginia, she moved to California in 1964 and was a Saratoga resident for 24 years.

She worked for the past seven years as customer service representative for Glendale Federal Bank.

She was active in her children's school and community activities. She was a room mother at Foothill Elementary School for her three children, and enjoyed leading her daughter's Brownie and Girl Scout troops and being team mother of her son's Little League and soccer teams.

She was also a cook, an antique collector, and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Marshall of Saratoga; her children, Julie McIntosh and her husband Scott of San Jose, and Jennifer Marshall and Paul Marshall of Saratoga; her father, Doug Chambers of Virginia; and, her sister, Sandra Simpson of Connecticut.
