      The mail still comes late

After reading the article about the new postmaster, I went and talked with him. Our office mail almost always comes after 1 p.m., and recently it has been much later. He said he was misquoted in the Saratoga News and never said he was going to deliver business mail before noon. Since I talked with him I have called twice about late service, and now we are getting mail at 4:30 p.m. This is not acceptable. Are other businesses having the same service?

      DeCinzo cartoon was openly hostile

I am writing to you out of concern over how the school redistricting issue is being covered by your paper. It has been extremely difficult for me to watch how the articles and DeCinzo's cartoons have tried to promote a polarization between the various cities or neighborhood groups involved. I take issue with the attacks that have been leveled against the Campbell Union School District and Marshall Lane in regards to the quality of education that they provide, and I believe that the areawide study will give us the proper forum to address these areas of dispute. I have tried not to take these attacks too personally and with a grain of salt, but I cannot and will not sit idly by while you publish items that attack or degrade my children or any student in the CUSD. I am speaking specifically to the DeCinzo cartoon that ran on April 16 that basically equated Campbell Union schoolchildren to the "poor white trash" portrayed in The Grapes of Wrath.

Please do not insinuate in any way that your children are superior to mine simply because of where they live or where they go to school, and please do not raise your children to believe this, either. I think it is incredibly irresponsible on your part to promote this type of openly hostile attitude toward our community and children and hope you will demonstrate a greater degree of compassion and consideration for them in the future.
