Annual Trail Run
The second annual San Juan Bautista de Anza Trail 8K Run will be held May 5, 8:30 a.m. Race day registration will be held at San Juan School in San Juan Bautista. The cost of the race is $15 or $22 with a race T-shirt. For more information, call the race hotline at 408.683.4683 or visit www.allsport.com. Proceeds from the race benefit the South Valley Symphony Pops Concert.
Cat's Hill
The 28th annual Cat's Hill Criterium, a bicycle race held on the streets of downtown Los Gatos, is coming up May 11.
More than 400 amateur riders and 100 professionals will compete in a number of different races as they speed down Tait, Bayview, Nicholson and Bachman streets, and also make the famous climb up the steep Nicholson hill--Cat's Hill.
A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Los Gatos Elementary Educational Foundation.

Softball sign-ups
The Saratoga Recreation Department is currently holding registration for the summer men's softball league. Men's "D" league teams play Mondays and Wednesdays for 10 weeks beginning June 3. Games are played at El Quito Park. For a manager's packet, call 408.868.1248.
Diabetes golf
The 10th annual Diabetes Society of Santa Clara Valley Golf Classic will be played on June 4 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose.
The scramble tournament will begin at noon, following registration and a special clinic offered by Cinnabar pros. For more information, call 408.287.3785, ext. 124.
Cindergals reunion at Vasona Park
The San Jose Cindergals, a top-flight age-group track and field club coached by Augie Argabright from 1968 through 1985, will hold a reunion on June 16 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.
Argabright, currently the cross country coach at San Jose State University, turned out 47 national age-group champions in his 18 years as the coach of the Cindergals. Two members of the squad, Francie Larrieu and Cindy Poor, went on to compete for U.S. Olympic teams.
