Big Basin Way appeal goes to the city council
San Jose developer Stan Gamble will appeal his proposed development to the city council on May 2. The development would involve two commercial spaces and four townhomes on two lots, extending from Bullpen Books on upper Big Basin Way back to St. Charles Street.
Gamble's proposal was rejected by the planning commission on April 28, when three planning commissioners would not allow townhomes on the St. Charles lot to be built 32 feet closer to the Big Basin lot than city code allows.
Gamble later requested the commission to fuse the two lots into one subdivision, which was also denied by the commission.
It is within the rights of any applicant to appeal a planning commission decision to the city council.
