    Chess Champs at Argonaut

    Argonaut School boasts an enthusiastic chess club, and 22 members participated in the Calchess State Scholastic Chess Tournament at the Santa Clara Convention Center on April 8 and 9. Students who returned to Argonaut with trophies were (from left) Connie Wang, 6, Allen Bailey, 6, Sally Freeman, 8, Brian Tsai, 8, Jason Chang 8, Aaron Garg, 8, David Chock, 9 and Olivia Chock, 6. It was the 25th anniversary of the event and more than 1,000 students attended, the highest attendance ever. The Argonaut players ranged in age from kindergarten to fifth grade and some played against high-school students. Their numerous individual and group trophies ranging from first to 25th place awards are on display in the Argonaut School office.
