    Coaches Needed

    Saratoga High School needs to fill a number of coaching vacancies for the fall sports season. Coaches are needed for girls junior varsity tennis, girls varsity volleyball and boys varsity and junior varsity water polo. For more information, call Dave Schirtzinger at 867-3411, ext. 335.

    Adult Sports

    The Saratoga Recreation Department is currently registering teams for the spring coed and the spring/summer men's softball league seasons, and for the spring season men's 35-plus basketball.

    Coed teams play on Tuesdays and Thursdays for seven weeks and men's "D" teams play on Mondays and Wednesdays for 14 weeks. Game are played at El Quito Park.

    The basketball season begins June 24 with games played on Saturday mornings at West Valley Community College. The cost is $535 per team, and all players must have been born prior to June 24, 1964.

    Fall Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO will hold registration at Argonaut School for the upcoming fall soccer season on May 15 and July 11, 9:30-1 p.m. each day. There will also be a special registration on April 24, 9:30 a.m.-noon, for coaches, assistant coaches and referees).

    The league will work with MLS Camps to offer youth soccer camps Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Congress Springs Park.

    Football Signups

    Youngsters ages 8-15 living in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Campbell can sign up for the fall Pop Warner Football season as players or cheerleaders.

    Players must have been born between Aug. 1, 1983, and July 31, 1991, and 15-year-old players must be under 125 pounds.

    Footbag Festival

    The 14th annual Western Regional Footbag Championships for Cystic Fibrosis will be held May 29-31 at Stanford University. Over 150 competitors are expected, and new players are welcome. For more information, call 1-650-366-5554 or check their Web site at www.footbag.org/events.
