City commission has a vacancy

The Saratoga Planning Commission is looking for residents interested in helping plan the community. The vacancy was created by the resignation of longtime commissioner Richard Siegfried.

The commission meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:30 p.m., and considers matters concerning planning, land use and zoning ordinances, as well as design reviews for proposed homes. The commission not only makes legislative decisions but also advises the Saratoga City Council on such subjects.

Applicants must attend a meeting of the commission and then be interviewed by the council. In addition, state law requires the disclosure of certain financial interests of Planning Commission members.

Any resident of Saratoga who is 18 years old or over can obtain an application form at City Hall, located at 13777 Fruitvale Ave. For more information, call deputy city clerk Betsy Cory at 868-1269.
