Karl W. George
Karl W. George, 56, a resident of Saratoga for 22 years, died March 4 in San Francisco.
Dr. George, who practiced dentistry in Santa Clara for 25 years, was born June 21, 1939 in Red Wing, Minn. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. He went on to attend Marquette University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1964. He spent three years in the U. S. Navy Dental Corps, had one tour of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Dr. George was on the volunteer staff of UC-San Francisco School of Dentistry. He was an active member of the Santa Clara County Dental Society. He was charter president of the Santa Clara West Rotary Club.
Surviving relatives are his wife, Rosemary; two sons, Carl of Colorado Springs, and John of Saratoga; and his sister, Ellen Schwartz of Eau Claire, Wis.
Funeral services were held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga on March 8. Graveside services and burial were at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, Minn. on April 6.
