    Different Places

    Ashley Mamola and Brandon Mazikowski of Westmont each placed at the Central Coast Section Top-8 Classic in Los Gatos, but their places were higher than those published in last week's newspaper.

    Mamola tied for second in the 300-meter hurdles and Mazikowski tied for fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

    AYSO Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO Region 27 will hold registration for players ages 5 and up interested in playing in the fall season on May 12, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and June 2 1-4 p.m. at Redwood Middle School in Saratoga.

    The registration fee is $75 per child until June 2. After that date, the registration fee will be $100, and players will be placed on a waiting list. Scholarships are available.

    Players must provide a birth certificate, a doctor's name and phone number, medical insurance information and the name, phone number and address of an emergency contact.

    Saratoga Auction

    The 21st annual Saratoga High Athletic Booster Club Fund-Raising Auction will be held May 20, 2-8 p.m., at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

    Tickets are priced at $85 and are available from Booster Club board members or at the Saratoga school office. The ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres, beverages, gourmet dinner and the opportunity to bid in the one-of-a-kind auction.

    Auction items include hard-to-get tickets to sporting events, private winery events, golf outings, exotic trips, sports memorabilia and much more.

    Proceeds from the events help fund boys and girls sports at Saratoga High and Redwood Middle School.

    Cat's Hill Criterium

    The 27th annual Cat's Hill Criterium, considered the most challenging criterium in the state, returns to the streets of downtown Los Gatos on May 12.

    Racing in the event, sponsored by Cliniskin and the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club, begins at 10 a.m. at the start-finish at Tait and Nicholson Avenue. Admission is free.
