A Bit of Saratoga History
When friends gathered last month to celebrate the 90th birthday of Dr. Jack Cox, who practiced in Saratoga from 1945 to 1966, the resulting photograph of the day's festivities looked like a page taken from a local history book. In the interest of keeping history alive, we offer: (top row from left) Dan Ungaro, retired superintendent of the Saratoga Union School District; Kay Walker, who was the honoree's nurse; Dorothy and Dr. Bob O'Neil (he was Cox's associate); Bert and Ursula Gerlitz, longtime Saratogans; and Willys Peck, Saratoga News columnist, history buff and longtime Saratogan; (bottom row from left) Treva Ungaro; Dr. Jack Cox and his wife, Flora; and Betty Peck, longtime kindergarten teacher in the Saratoga School District and community activist.
