      Joseph Pappas

Joseph Pappas passed away May 1 at his Saratoga home, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 30, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, and came to California to attend high school. He went on to graduate from San Jose State University. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Pappas was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December and told he had two months to live, said his wife Gerri Pappas. "He was known for smiling. He said that every day is a good day."

In addition to his wife, Mr. Pappas leaves two sons, George Pappas and Craig Pappas of this area; daughter Susan Gleason of Florida and four grandchildren. "He was a loving father and a playful grandfather," said Mrs. Pappas.
