Local kids tell some fish tales
The first- through sixth-graders of the West Valley Presbyterian Church's choir--many of them Saratogans--will perform a musical called Fish Tales on May 19, 7 p.m., in the church at 6191 Bollinger Road in Cupertino, less than two miles away from the Saratoga border.
The choir, known as Joyful Noise, will sing and act out witty songs like "Fish Sandwiches" and "Love is the Bait." Described by choir directors Chris and Tom Watson as having a "Tom Sawyer-ish" feel, Fish Tales includes fun, musical versions of traditional Bible tales. For directions to the church, call 408.252.8255.
Fashion show to support charity
The Saratoga High School Benefit Commission will unveil its third annual fashion show on May 18 in the Little Theatre, located on campus at 20300 Herriman Ave.
Headed by senior Annie Morrissey and juniors Erica Tsai and Catherine Chang, the students organizing and modeling in the show have been working for several months with parent volunteer Lyndy Janes, an international model who teaches etiquette classes through her business, Etiquette, Etiquette.
The show is a fundraiser for the Support Network for Battered Women and the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, based out of the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. For tickets, call 408.867.6888.
Youth symphony plays in concert
