Saratoga NewsLettersIroquois language still being studied I would like to clarify the quotation referring to the Iroquois language as "primitive" in the May 6 Saratoga News. This was intended solely to suggest that there is still much to learn about the Iroquois and its associated languages. Currently, various groups and institutions of higher learning across North America are exerting an effort to preserve the culture and languages of North Americans, and we are in the process of contacting the experts on the Mohawk language to obtain suggestions on the derivation of the name "Saratoga" and the possible meanings, if any can be found. In the meantime, I am happy to say goodbye to "floating pond scum."
