Saratoga NewsSports BriefsPlayoff bound Westmont will be well represented in the upcoming Central Coast Section baseball and softball playoffs. The Westmont baseball team (15-10) will open play in the CCS Division II playoffs on May 20, 7 p.m., when the Warriors meet North Monterey County (12-9) at San Jose Municipal Stadium. In softball action, Westmont (18-17) will take on Mountain View (16-11) on May 21, 3 p.m., at San Jose PAL Stadium in CCS Division II play. Falcons net win The Saratoga boys' tennis team blanked Palma 7-0 in the first round of the Central Coast Section playoffs last week. Martin Salokas rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles to start the Falcons on the road to victory. Peter Rickgauer won 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 2 singles, with Brian Doore winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3, Jason Hou 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 and Neil Godbole 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5. Scott Chao and Ian Modi teamed for a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles and Paul Chen and Scott Swanberg supported with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Williams Camp The annual Sid Williams Basketball Camp returns to the court at Fisher Middle School July 13-17. The camp is designed for "the motivated player" entering the fifth-ninth grades. Session I will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. each days for boys and girls entering fifth and sixth grades. Session 2 for boys and girls going into the seventh-ninth grades will be held from 4-7 p.m. For more information, call 358-9323. Girls' basketball camps A series of girls' basketball camps will be held at Santa Clara University this summer with sessions starting June 6 through July 31.
