AYSO Soccer signups are being held June 1

The Saratoga AYSO will hold registration for the fall soccer season on June 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at SCORE! Advantage Center, 14440 Big Basin Way. The registration fee is $80 per child and parents must accept a volunteer job.

New players must provide a birth certificate, and both new and returning players must provide the name and phone numbers of a doctor and emergency contact.

Re/Max North American Long drive championship

The Pin High Golf Center in San Jose will host the Re/Max North American Long Drive contest on June 8, 10 a.m. Contestants will compete for the right to advance to the district semifinals. For more information, call 934-1111.

Vikings win top honors for spring season

Softball and baseball players from West Valley Community College walked off with top honors after outstanding spring seasons on the diamond.

Chantiel McDonnell was named the California player of the year after an excellent year for the Vikings. McDonnell hit .542 and stole 79 bases for the Vikes this spring.

Top hurler Jennifer Mallon was also named to the all-state team and Kim Lax and Jennifer Ellinger were tabbed to the all-Northern California squad.

J.R. Ziegelmann and Ryan Becks of West Valley were named to the all-conference baseball team in the South Division of the Coast Conference.

Campbell-Saratoga Football signups begin

The Campbell-Saratoga Youth Football organization is holding signups for the 1996 fall season. Signups will be accepted for both football players and cheerleaders, and the organization is also looking for coaches. For more information, call 327-9510.
