Saratoga NewsDale Bryant Saratoga News names new editorDale Bryant has been named the editor of the Saratoga News, effective June 2, Metro Newspapers Executive Editor Dan Pulcrano, announced this week. Current editor Carolyn Leal is leaving the paper and plans to do freelance writing. Bryant, editor of the Los Gatos Weekly-Times, is currently the managing editor of the Saratoga paper. In her new role, Bryant will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Saratoga News. Sarah Lombardo, who covers the government beat in Saratoga, has been named assistant editor. Bryant has been editor of the Los Gatos paper for four years and, in December, was named managing editor of the Metro Community Group. Bryant grew up in Saratoga and attended Oak Street School and Los Gatos High School. She worked as a reporter for the San Jose Mercury News for nine years and was director of communications for United Way of Santa Clara County for six years. She has also worked as a freelance writer and public relations consultant. She holds a bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University and a master's degree in English with a creative writing emphasis from San Jose State University.
