Cunneen to hold town hall meeting
Saratoga High School will be the setting for a June 1 town hall meeting with Assemblyman Jim Cunneen on the 1997 state budget. The public is invited to this discussion of how state revenues should be invested. It will start at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium of the school, located at 20300 Herriman Avenue. There will also be meetings at 11 a.m. at the Cambrian School District's district-office multi-use room and at 1 p.m. at the Gunderson High School auditorium.
Summer school programs offered
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation is offering its 16th year of summer school programs.
Elementary-age summer school runs June 24-July 19, 9 a.m.-noon at Blossom Hill Elementary School, Fisher Middle School, Argonaut Elementary School and Redwood Middle School.
High school-level summer school runs June 24-August 2 from 8 a.m.- 12:25 p.m., at Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools. High school students may receive credit for summer school classes. For more information, call 354-8700, ext. 21.
No sewer charge changes
Saratoga's sewer service charge for a single-family residence will stay at $198 for the third year in a row, according to the 1996-97 budget adopted on May 8 by the The West Valley Sanitation District Board of Directors. The budget details how the district, which also serves Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Campbell, will divvy up its $14,024,938 operating budget between salaries, benefits, sewer maintenance, extension of sewer service, capital improvements, and wastewater treatment.
