Santa Clara Baseball School

Mike Cummins and Lou Lucas, members of the coaching staff at Santa Clara University, will host the annual Santa Clara Baseball School in June and July.

The school features three sessions with instruction in basic fundamentals, hitting and pitching.

The first two sessions (June 24-28 and July 8-12) will offer classes in basic fundamentals and hitting from 9 a.m.-noon (the cost $100), and classes in pitching only from 1:30-2:30 p.m. ($50).

The third session (July 22-26) covers hitting only in two separate classes, 9-10:15 a.m. and 10:30-11:45 a.m. ($50 per class).

The school features individualized instruction in the basic fundamentals of hitting, sliding, base running and playing defense. Each player will receive a camp T-shirt, a written evaluation and video analysis.

Re/Max Long Drive golf championship

The Pin High Golf Center in San Jose will host the Re/Max North American Long Drive contest on June 8, 10 a.m. Contestants will compete for the right to advance to the district semifinals. For more information, call 934-1111.

Campbell-Saratoga Football signups

The Campbell-Saratoga Youth Football organization is holding signups for the 1996 fall season. Signups will be accepted for both football players and cheerleaders, and the organization is also looking for coaches. For more information, call 327-9510.

Saratoga Summer basketball clinic

A summer basketball clinic hosted by Saratoga girls' varsity basketball coach Bret Yeilding will be held June 17-July 25 in the Saratoga gym.

The clinic runs 1-3 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and is open to girls in the seventh to 12th grades. The cost is $125 per player, and preregistration is advised since space is limited.
