    Hoop Tourney

    The first annual Los Gatos Basketball Tournament for girls varsity and junior varsity is set for July 9-11. All teams are guaranteed four games, and the entry fee is $250 per team.

    There will be three-on-three competition, a three-point shootout and free-throw contests, and the event is open to all girls entering grades 9-12.

    NASCAR at Home Depot

    NASCAR auto racing is coming to local Home Depot stores when a state-of-the-art mobile unit outfitted with a racing simulator and interactive tool workshop rolls into the area this month.

    The mobile unit will visit the following locations: Milpitas, 1535 Landess Ave., on June 9, 3-7 p.m.; San Jose, 920 Blossom Hill Road, on June 10, 3-7 p.m.; Santa Clara, 2435 Lafayette, on June 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Sunnyvale, 680 Kifer Road, on June 17, 3-7 p.m.

    Junior Tennis

    Registration is under way for Junior League Team Tennis in Saratoga. USTA-Team Saratoga will field teams in the 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 15-and-under and 18-and-under age groups.

    The program features weekly competition against other area teams, and the season runs June 14-July 30. Practices and matches will be played at Saratoga High School.

    Coaches Needed

    Saratoga High School needs to fill a number of coaching vacancies for the fall sports season. Coaches are needed for girls junior varsity tennis, girls varsity volleyball and boys varsity and junior varsity water polo. For more information, call Dave Schirtzinger at 867-3411, ext. 335.

    Fall Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO will hold registration at Argonaut School for the upcoming fall soccer season on July 11, 9:30-1 p.m.

    The league will work with MLS Camps to offer youth soccer camps Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Congress Springs Park.
