Father Larkin is new pastor at Sacred Heart

Father Alexander Larkin has been named new pastor at Saratoga's Sacred Heart Church, effective July 1.

Born in San Francisco in 1941, Father Larkin was ordained at St. Paul Church in San Francisco in 1967.

He served as associate pastor in three parishes until his assignment as pastor in 1981 at St. William Parish in Los Altos. In 1985, he became pastor of St. John Vianney Parish and in 1987, he was named pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Palo Alto and director of Stanford's Newman Center.

In 1992, he moved to the offices of the Diocese of San Jose as vicar for parish and pastoral ministry.
